Do You Take Responsibility or Place Blame on Others?
It has been said that there are two basic types of people in life: the prosperous and the victims. This distinction represents a basic mindset choice, and you are free to take whichever path you like.
But you should understand one key point. There are no rich victims. By definition, a victim is someone who believes life happens to them. On the other hand, a prosperous individual believes they create their life as they go.
The victim mentality prevents people from taking responsibility for the circumstances in their world. They choose to place blame on other people, cosmic forces, the weather, and just about anything else they can point to.
By doing this, they are able to escape responsibility for their shortcomings. Unfortunately they are also sabotaging their chances of success and happiness. It’s not possible to accept responsibility for creating one set of circumstances in life while blaming other people and events for another set of circumstances.
The universe simply doesn’t seem to work like this. When you give your power away by saying things just happen to you in life. You affirm your own inability to create a positive outcome, which results in your attracting more of the things you don’t want.
There’s no way to avoid the fact that life manifests according to your projections. So blaming and complaining will only manifest more negativity and frustration. By accepting complete responsibility for everything that happens to you, not only do you grow as a person, you take back your power to create.
If it’s true that you are creating events that prevent you from having the life you claim you want, it must also be true that you can create the opposite, right? Of course this is the case!
Nobody is wired to manifest only negative circumstances; every human being is capable of creating both positive and negative events in their own life and in the world around them.
You’ll actually find it quite liberating to stop pointing a finger at others. The fact is, your odds of changing someone else are minimal at best. But you certainly can initiate change from within.
So if you are the cause of all your experiences, by changing your attitudes you can hope to see a new direction reflected in your daily life. Personal responsibility is one of the greatest gifts life has given you. Don’t shrug this amazing power off by pretending your life is controlled by outside forces.
